“Integrative biological dentistry is a comprehensive modality that deals with dentistry on multiple levels. Integration means that we put all of medicine and dentistry on the same playing field and it’s really patient-centered care. The key is to customize the therapies specifically to what the patient needs,” said Dr. Mollica.
“In dental school, it seemed to me that nothing existed below the head and neck. In reality, we are one organism. There are no ‘barriers’ in the human body. So if you have a chronic infection in the jaw, face or anywhere in the body – it has whole body consequences.”
“You know it’s amazing that people have all this organic food and all this great water but they open up their mouth and there’s infection everywhere. So you take all this beautiful food, mixing it with infection and then you swallow it. So it’s very important that we concentrate on the health of the head and neck,” he writes.
